Regulatory Reporting ("GSP") is responsible for discharging UBS' global obligations for reporting its aggregated shareholdings. In accordance with regulatory and legal requirements, GSP analyses UBS' position in all relevant jurisdictions and across all Business Divisions: the Investment Bank (IB), Global Asset Management (GAM) and Global Wealth Management & Business Banking (Global WM&BB).

Across the globe, countries have their own specific legal and regulatory provisions requiring shareholders at defined levels to disclose to the market, Stock Exchange(s), Regulator(s) and/or Issuer, the amount of shares they hold in a public company. The purpose of these provisions is to provide transparency to public companies as to whom their significant shareholders are as and when changes occur. The companies are interested in this for a number of reasons, for example, it may indicate to them who is building a stake in their company or who will be exercising votes at their AGM. The market at large is also interested in this information.

The GSP EMEA Team is based in Zurich and is responsible for analysing global UBS holdings and for discharging the Bank’s obligation to comply with the regulatory shareholder reporting requirements for the EMEA region.
