The Food Scout Team:

The FELFEL Food Scouts are responsible for the food in the FELFEL fridge: scouting of trends, finding the best local chefs, recipe & packaging development. In addition, the team is responsible for food hygiene, processes and maintaining great relationships with our partner chefs during daily operations.

The goal is to make our ‘eaters’ happy and to reach as many different tastes there are so that everyone can find something in the FELFEL.

Job Tasks:

  • Recipe Development: one of your core tasks is to create recipes in all our different categories that our partner chefs can produce for us. You own the process from putting the idea to paper to introducing the final product to the FELFEL, including: Test cooking, optimizing recipes, feedback gathering, finding a chef to produce, qualitative tests, price negotiation, packaging and last but not least monitoring the product’s performance once it’s in the FELFEL fridge. The goal is to make as many of our ‘eaters’ happy.
  • Trend monitoring and building relationships in the food industry: responsible to monitor food trends and landscape (who produces) and integrate in development.
  • Food Administration: putting together food labels according to applicable food laws, order food alongside our internal analytics team. Introducing new partner chefs to FELFEL world including FELFEL label printing etc.
  • Feedback monitoring: responsible that the product stands in the FELFEL as designed, working very closely with other teams at FELFEL to make this happen. Gather and act on feedbacks received by different teams.
  • Support Marketing: support marketing with ideas, food stories, food photography as needed.
  • Quality Management: build up quality management system and execute according to our standards.

Who you are:

  • You are young and ‘pretty good’ in cooking! creative cooking skills are a MUST for this position
  • Knowhow about ingredients: what ingredient fits to certain flavors, which salads are in what season, what alternative could we use for avocado that is difficult to handle?
  • At FELFEL ‘data driven’ is a core value when taking decision, so you can’t be afraid of data
  • Willingness to learn our brand and our values, so no food opportunity escapes your keen eye
  • Candidate should have a deep knowledge of the current and emerging food landscape & trends
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both GERMAN and ENGLISH - French is a plus!
  • Flexibility: we are a small team, responsibilities might change over time and you need to be willing to also help out in other teams every now and then
  • Attitude: ‘The Answer is Yes’
  • Love for food: if your eyes don’t sparkle when you hear ‘Daniel Humm’, ‘Noma’ or ‘Peruvian Cuisine’ - this is the wrong jobs for you.
  • A ‘hands on do-er’ versus ‘big talker’
  • Entrepreneurial experience is a plus
  • 1-3 years work experience, ideally in the food universe
