Your role

Are you interested in preparing the external disclosures on the UBS pension plans in English and German for our Annual Report 2017? Do you like working precisely with numbers and text? We’re looking for someone like that to deputize a member of our pension team:

  • Prepare the text of the pension note in the UBS Annual Report 2017 with guidance from senior members of Group Compensation Control
  • Review respective tables prepared by our team against underlying data
  • Assist in presenting the pension note, tables and underlying data to our auditors
  • Assist Group Compensation Control in other tasks such as monthly pension calculations, bonus accruals, expensing of deferred awards, accruing of personnel costs (this part of the internship can be tailored to the interests of the candidate)

For your reference, you can find the respective external disclosures for the previous year on pages 417-431 of the UBS Annual Report 2016: https://www.ubs.com/global/en/about_ubs/investor_relations/annualreporting/2016.html

Our internship is an ideal way to gain the work experience you’ll need to launch your career. It’s also an opportunity to work with and learn from some of our sharp people in finance. From the start of the program, you’ll be right at the heart of the business, taking part in the day-to-day operations. You’ll not only learn about the business of finance from top to bottom, you’ll also experience our unique workplace culture.

Requirements

You need to be advanced in your studies and close to completing your master’s degree in business administration. In particular, you have:

  • the ability to learn quickly
  • excellent interpersonal skills (and this is noticeable even when under pressure)
  • a diligent and detail-oriented work style
  • fluent English and German skills (written & oral)
  • sharp analytical and problem solving skills
  • basic understanding about accounting
  • good communication skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels
  • a structured work style, confident working autonomously

But we’d like to also see evidence that you can:

  • analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
  • plan, organize and communicate well
  • make things happen
  • stick with a task
  • work in a team
  • come up with ideas

Perhaps you’ve organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or persevered and passed an exam in a subject you found challenging? Think about how things you’ve achieved match the skills we’re after.

Start date: July 2017,
Duration: 9 months (until March 2018), 80% - 100%
