Your role

Do you know your way around people? Are your communication skills second to none? We’re looking for someone like that to:

  • Help manage and coordinate communications for global initiatives and change programs across our Corporate Center
  • Develop content for news articles and intranet pages, including editing and writing (in English and in German) and the coordination of translations and web publishing
  • Research best practice and generate innovative approaches to deliver content to employees, for example through new intranet article formats, social media or collaboration platforms
  • Handle a small portfolio of projects such as webpage redesigns, communication campaigns, the development of guidelines and the review of intranet-related statistics
  • Provide guidance about UBS’s language and tone of voice guidelines.

It’s also an opportunity to work with and learn from some of our sharp people in our Corporate Center . From the start of the program, you’ll be right at the heart of the business, taking part in the day-to-day operations. You’ll not only learn about our business from top to bottom, you’ll also experience our unique workplace culture.

Requirements

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree and have not yet completed your master’s degree. In particular, you have:

  • Advanced studies in journalism, communications, history or any other humanities/ arts discipline
  • Excellent German (written and oral) and English (native-level)
  • Strong interest in (internal) communications and all aspects of online communication including internet and social media
  • Strong writing and editorial skills, an interest in editorial style/ tone of voice and a critical eye for identifying what makes content readable and interesting for different audiences
  • Experienced in MS Office, especially Power Point
  • Team player, able to work collaboratively on a wide range of tasks
  • Well organized with an autonomous and structured way of working
  • Open, flexible and challenging, able to work in a global environment
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information

Your Team

You’ll be working in the Group Functions Communications team which is part of Group Communications & Branding. We are responsible for communicating to employees globally in Corporate Center functions including Finance, Risk, Legal and our Group COO function (which covers technology, operations, sourcing and other areas) about strategic, tactical and engagement-related topics. Our role covers a broad range of activities, from high level planning through to the creation and delivery of content and communications materials in a variety of formats in up to four languages.
Our aim is to communicate in a clear, transparent, engaging and timely manner - with employees, management, and other stakeholders inside UBS. In doing so, we help employees understand how they are part of the firm’s strategy, enable knowledge sharing and collaboration and increase employee engagement.
Given the broad scope of our activities, we work closely with colleagues in other parts of the communications organization including our web and online, print, editorial and video teams, media relations and the regional, business and functional communications teams.
