Your role

Are you risk averse but risk aware?

We are looking for someone like that to:

  • support the business in managing risk
  • perform second-line-of-defense activities in relation to consequential risks
  • ensure risk frameworks are designed well and operating effectively
  • deliver independent risk assessment and reports that shed light on our risk profile
  • provide business management with controls, tools, training, frameworks , information and insights required to manage risk

Our Graduate Talent Program (GTP) lasts 18 months. You’ll be directly involved in day-to-day operations, working with professionals and gaining first-hand experience of our business.

As well as on-the-job learning, you’ll get training on the financial markets, our products and other core business topics. Rotational assignments are a key part of the program. By taking on other roles in related departments, you’ll gain a wider perspective.

Besides all that, you’ll attend networking events, cross-business classes and social occasions where you’ll get to know us.

Your team

You’ll be working in the Swiss Investment Bank, Compliance and Operational Risk Control (C&ORC) team in Opfikon, Zurich. We are a business aligned risk function providing expert advice and challenge on matters regarding Compliance, Operational Risk and the control environment to the various business sectors in the Investment Bank.

Your experience and skills

You need have completed your bachelor’s or master’s degree.

In particular, you have:

  • good communication skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels
  • an interest in financial markets, numbers, models and products
  • sharp analytical and problem solving skills
  • good judgment when dealing with sensitive information
  • extensive past experience with MS Office

But we’d like to also see evidence that you can:

  • analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
  • plan, organize and communicate well
  • make things happen
  • stick with a task
  • work in a team
  • come up with ideas

Perhaps you’ve organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or persevered and passed an exam in a subject you found challenging? Think about how things you’ve achieved match the skills we’re after.
