Your role

Do you have an analytic mind? Are you interested in regulatory and political issues? We are looking for someone like this to:

  • Contribute to our analysis on key regulatory and political issues of relevance to UBS
  • Help develop our position across a broad spectrum of political and regulatory issues and financial market topics
  • Contribute to our advocacy work with key industry associations and other external bodies
  • Prepare briefing material for our key decision makers on regulatory policy issues

Graduate Talent Program
Our Graduate Talent Program (GTP) lasts 18 months. You’ll be directly involved in day-to-day operations, working with professionals and gaining first-hand experience of our business.

As well as on-the-job learning, you’ll get training on the financial markets, our products and other core business topics. Rotational assignments are a key part of the program. By taking on other roles in related departments, you’ll gain a wider perspective.

Besides all that, you’ll attend networking events, cross-business classes and social occasions where you’ll get to know us.

Your team

You will be working as part of the Governmental Affairs team, where you will play a key part in carrying out its mandate regarding policy proposals coming out. Governmental Affairs ensures comprehensive coverage of the activities of governments, regulators and supranational organizations that materially affect us. Our team work closely with our top management on emerging political and regulatory developments and manages the interactions with policymakers and industry associations around the globe.

Your experience and skills

You need have completed your master’s degree, preferably in economics, finance, business administration or international affairs. In particular, you have:

  • know-how gained from internship in a financial institution, the public sector, an association or similar
  • strong interest in political and regulatory issues of relevance to the financial industry
  • an interest in working in a fast-paced international environment as part of a team
  • good communication skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels
  • excellent German and English (written and oral)
  • a flexible, open-minded and cooperative personality (you’re a people person)

But we’d like to also see evidence that you can:

  • analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
  • plan, organize and communicate well
  • make things happen
  • stick with a task
  • work in a team
  • come up with ideas
