Your role

Are you a good team player who is willing to learn from scratch and contribute in a new environment?

  • Gather and analyze requirements.
  • Proposal of solutions.
  • Implementation of proposed solutions using existing tools / developing new supporting tools.
  • Testing and validation of proposed solutions including continuous improvements and fine tuning.

Your team

You will be working in one of the departments within the Chief Information Security Office, depending on your skills, passions and interests.
Potential options include the following teams:

  • Cyber Assurance / Red Team Testing - Think and do stuff like an hacker would do, on real banking systems, but faster than a real one.
  • Security Operations - Be the front runner when a real attack is happening and protect the bank.
  • Cyber Threat Intelligence - Uncover attacks before they happen, underground research, police and intelligence group involvements.
  • Cyber Security Analytics - Get insights out of Terabyte of data to find the most hidden attacks.
  • Malware Protection Service - Making sure the platforms we use are malware free and hardened.
    • Strategy - Strive to make security part of DNA of everyone at UBS.
  • Engineering, architectures, forensics, risk etc. We need your project and ideas.

Your expertise

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree and have not yet completed your master’s degree.

In particular, you have:

  • at least four semesters at a university, preferably with a focus on Computer and Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, Computational Science, Mathematics or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of network and internet architecture and/or information security, and/or data analysis/data mining for IT purposes.
  • Desirable knowledge of one or more of the following: Unix and/or Win scripting environments, TCP/IP, SQL and alike, Matlab, Scripting languages, R, Python, log parsing and analysis (REGEX), network and system security, x86/x64 assembly, disassemblers, debuggers, malware analysis and related tools, forensics techniques, penetration testing tools and techniques (Nessus, Metasploit, etc.), Capture the Flag environments, etc.
  • Strong social, soft and communication skills
  • Strong structured and analytical thinking ability
  • Ability to closely collaborate with multidisciplinary, multicultural and global teams
