Your Role

Within Investment Management, the Group Real Estate team is responsible for all aspects of defining, enhancing and implementing the centrally driven real estate investment strategies across Zurich’s global insurance balance sheets - with focus on achieving superior returns through efficient execution, good management of risks and optimal construction of Zurich’s real estate investment portfolios. Standardized high quality investment performance and risk reporting, realizing economies of scale, developing best practice and driving operational efficiency are further fundamental aspects for this position.

As a Working Student your main responsibility will be:

  • Supporting the global implementation and maintenance of a new real estate management tool (IMMOPAC) - which will significantly enhance the quality of risk analysis and reporting as well as help to further align our global processes.
  • Your activities may also involve supporting in other aspects of developing and implementing the Group wide real estate investment strategy, such as ensuring best-practice reporting and performance measurement and risk analysis, tracking market trends affecting the timing for investments and divestments, and coordinating the investment strategies and activities in the different business Units.

Your Skills and Experience

As a Working Student your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Successful completion of at least two years of study in economics, finance, accounting / controlling or in a numerical / quantitative or IT related discipline
  • Basic understading of real estate investments and capital markets
  • Keen interest in real estate, economic and financial market trends
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills are fundamental
  • Good communication skills - oral and written
  • Excellent command of German and English
  • Good communication skills in Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese or Italian an advantage
  • Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power Point is particularly important
  • A high level of commitment and dedication to the goals of the department and the company
  • A working style that is detail oriented, careful and conscious of time constrains would also be advantageous
