Financial Accountant (m/w) 80-100%

Description

As a Financial Accountant you will collaborate within the team in the preparation and reporting of the quarterly closings under IFRS and Swiss Local Statutory. We are looking for a professional who brings experience in financial accounting and is keen to further develop and grow within a small and well established team.

Your Role

As a Financial Accountant your main responsibilities will involve:

• Assist within the team the preparation of the quarterly closings. You will be involved with various general ledger tasks such as accruals, provisions, valuation of foreign currency positions, calculation and booking of deferred tax and income tax
• Reconciliation of interface to sub-ledger
• Collaboration in the intercompany reconciliation, resolving differences with the counterparties
• Timely reporting to the Group of the relevant accounts under IFRS and Swiss Local Stat
• Preparation of the SNB reporting and collaboration in other submissions, like VAT, Swiss Solvency Test, FINMA
• Support in project work
• Back up of accounts payable and invoices for letter of credit
• Ongoing process improvement

Your Skills and Experience

As a Financial Accountant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

• Bachelors degree in business administration or equivalent business experience. Degrees in accounting and controlling are preferred
• 3-5 years experience in financial accounting
• Basic knowledge of IFRS and Swiss statutory is a plus
• Fluent spoken and written German and English
• Experience in statutory and regulatory reporting
• Knowledge of insurance and re-insurance accounting would be an asset
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office especially Excel, knowledge of SAP FI/CO and SAP BW
• Willing to take ownership, hardworking, persistent, able to work under pressure during peak times, team oriented personality
• Global thinking to understand the dependencies within a multinational company
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
