Junior Commodity Trader (M/W)

Your Role

• Analyze the demand, prepare a formal response to customer requirement, define source, quality, quantity
• Price out of potential exporters/manufacturers from various countries
• Check for freight rates and vessel/shipping lines' availabilities with shipping
• Formalize the offer, issue fixture note if the offer is accepted in both ends
• Implementation and follow-up with operational department
• Implementation of sourcing contacts from various entities

• In collaboration with the shipping department, check for freight rates, port conditions, shipping terms, in order to be back to back with seller/buyers
• In agreement with trade finance, fix payment terms, establish prices to ensure margin for the group, issue purchase/sale contracts, followup for receipt of complete payment, coordinate with legal advisor if needed before issuing the contracts

Requirements

• You have a background in agronomy

• You have good knowledge about fertlizers

• Good knowledge of market prices and payment instruments
• Good knowledge of commodity products
• Good knowledge in pricing commodities
• Basic knowledge of international legal transactions
• Basic knowledge of shipping
• First experience in fertilizers is a plus
• Logistics knowledge is a plus
• 2/3 years' experience in a commercial/marketing environment with good expertise on dealing with African countries' environment
• University degree, International Commercial/Marketing/Export background with required Commodity market knowledge
• Agronomist background
• Good negociation skills with high business levels
• Good analytical skills and reactivity
• Good communication skills and transparent but able to preserve confidentiality
• Autonomous but team oriented
• Ability to support stress and and result oriented

The junior trader will report to the head of trading and shipping. She/he will be responsible for the following:

• The supply of the distribution network on various soft commodities
• Ensuring contractual agreements between buyer and seller
• On time delivery and smooth operation by providing customer service to the network offices
• Providing strategic inputs and information to the company
