Your role

Are you keen to experience machine learning and data science in practice? ? Would you like to shape the future of advanced analytics at UBS and collect valuable experience along the way?

We’re looking for someone like that to:

  • Support and develop our capabilities around machine learning and analytics

Within the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence at UBS Switzerland you notably work on:

  • Conception, implementation and validation of models together with the team
  • Within strategic use cases, that are of high relevance across domains
  • Deriving and presenting insightful findings from data and model outputs
  • Supporting the development of our analytics solutions and frameworks

Internship
Our 3-6 month internship is an ideal way to gain the work experience you’ll need to launch your career. It’s also an opportunity to work with and learn from some of our sharp people in finance.

From the start of the program, you’ll be right at the heart of the business, taking part in the day-to-day operations. You’ll not only learn about the business of finance from top to bottom, you’ll also experience our unique workplace culture.

Your team

You’re part of an innovative and dynamic team, successfully pushing the digitization of UBS Switzerland. If you would like to experience data science right at the heart of the digital transformation in banking, you’re in the right place with us. We work closely with stakeholders from business, marketing, analytics, legal & compliance and IT to create innovative projects and solutions with direct impact on day-to-day business.

Your expertise

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree or have obtained your master’s degree within the last 6 months.

In particular you have:

  • At least 4 completed semesters at ETH/university, preferably in information technology, communication systems, mathematics or other STEM fields
  • Solid understanding of statistics and modern analytics methods such as boosting or deep learning
  • Basic knowledge of the concepts around building analytical models
  • Experience in extraction and presentation of insights from models and data
  • Personal initiative and motivation to push projects forward independently and a goal-oriented
  • Interest in working together with stakeholders from various fields
  • Previous experience in banking or financial services would be an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of German would be an advantage.
