Carbon Market Junior Broker (M/W)

Your Role

• Meeting new and existing clients on a consistent basis to develop and maintain business relationships
• Working with and supporting brokers with daily activities including preparation of daily market reports
• Monitoring and analysing market performance and communicating it to customers
• Writing daily market updates, news summaries and daily market letters
• Identifying potential clients via research and cold calling
• Attending industry conferences and visiting clients across the region

Requirements

• You have very strong interpersonal skills

• You have strong sales skills and an entrepreunarial mindset

• Personable with a good phone manner and good at building relationships
• Knowledge and/or experience in any metals market, EU biofuel, carbon and the components market is desirable
• Computer literate (Excel proficiency) with excellent numeracy skills
• Detail-oriented and able to judge the risk/reward trade-off in daily operations
• Able to think and react quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of delivering information to clients in a very fast and efficient manner
• Able to negotiate in order to maximise desk profitability
• Must have very strong interpersonal skills and be an excellent communicator

• Degree in Finance, Mathematics or Business, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years' experience working in brokering, trading or operations
• Working knowledge of French and/or German
• Fluency in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish will be an advantage
• Good understanding of the markets and related terminology
• Motivated, self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit
• Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise work flow
• Strong ability to multi-task, able to handle several complex tasks concurrently and accurately
• Team player
