Your role

Are you interested in information and looking at new ways of using it to solve problems? Do you have strong analytical skills and a passion for understanding the “why” and “how” as much as the “what”?

We’re looking for someone like that to:

  • design and implement innovative data analytics solutions such as dynamic risk dashboards
  • find new ways to identify risk patterns
  • establish relationships with business stakeholders to identify and address Business Risk Management relevant risk areas in the organization
  • actively collaborate with other teams and Subject Matter Experts to identify relevant data sources, help develop value-add assessments and properly measure level of risk
  • support the development of new innovation technologies such as machine learning and automation/robotics

Graduate Talent Program
Our Graduate Talent Program (GTP) lasts 18 months. You’ll be directly involved in day-to-day operations, working with professionals and gaining first-hand experience of our business.

As well as on-the-job learning, you’ll get training on the financial markets, our products and other core business topics. Rotational assignments are a key part of the program. By taking on other roles in related departments, you’ll gain a wider perspective.

Besides all that, you’ll attend networking events, cross-business classes and social occasions where you’ll get to know us.

Your team

You’ll be working in the Business Risk Management UBS Switzerland (BRM UBS CH) division in Zurich. BRM UBS CH supports front units and a variety of stakeholders in the implementation and maintenance of business risk analysis and controls. Measures for mitigating risk are defined, taken up in the competent bodies and implemented.

The Data Analytics, Solutions and Reporting Team is part of BRM UBS CH and responsible for analysis, data sourcing, operation and further development of BRM applications and reporting in connection with the controls to be implemented. Besides supporting diverse stakeholders, the team primarily assists teams of subject-matter experts of different risk taxonomies.

Your expertise

You need have completed your bachelor’s or master’s degree.

In particular, you have:

  • a university degree, preferably in an analytical field (Math, Statistics, Physics, Finance or IT)
  • sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • knowledge in SQL and basic knowledge in data analytics tools like R, Python or visualization tools like Tableau
  • good communication and presentation skills
  • fluent German & English skills (oral & written)

Start date: February 2019, or upon agreement

  • thinking analytical and enjoy unveiling and reasoning about dependencies in complex datasets
  • interact well with all levels of employees within a global organization
