Your role

Are you interested in the development of systematic asset allocation and investment strategies? Then we are looking for someone like that to:

  • Applying frequency filtering to financial market time series
  • Programming in Matlab your mathematical developments
  • Testing and enhancing existing models for systematic asset allocation strategies
  • Learning how to invest in one of the leading banks for wealth management
  • Combine economic knowledge from market experts with time series analysis in computer language

Internship
Our 3-6 month internship is an ideal way to gain the work experience you’ll need to launch your career. It’s also an opportunity to work with and learn from some of our sharp people in finance.

From the start of the program, you’ll be right at the heart of the business, taking part in the day-to-day operations. You’ll not only learn about the business of finance from top to bottom, you’ll also experience our unique workplace culture.

Your team

You’ll be working in the CIO Quantitative Strategies Team of UBS Global Wealth Management in Zurich Switzerland. The Quantitative Strategies Team is responsible for the UBS Systematic Allocation Portfolio Strategy and to support the UBS House View with quantitative modelling.

Your expertise

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree or have obtained your master’s degree within the last 6 months.
In particular you have:

  • a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in mathematics or quantitative finance
  • proven numerical and quantitative skills for understanding and applying quantitative models
  • experience with high-level programming language and statistical modeling software know-how (like R, SAS, Matlab, Stata)
  • a gift for using numerical analysis, statistics and financial mathematics to solve practical problems
  • an interest in financial markets, numbers, models and products
  • excellent German and English (written and oral)
