The Global Evidence, Policy and Outcomes team is centered on providing expertise in the areas evidence, real-world data, value-based healthcare and health policy for Roche Diabetes Care. As part of the Global Medical & Scientific Affairs department, we are committed to deliver innovative and credible evidence and policy solutions that enable sustainable access to our products for patients, health care professionals and payers.

The position / Job Description:

We have an opening for a student intern to help us to develop a new evidence dossier template and global health policy plan for Roche Diabetes Care as well as a knowledge management platform. These projects will support RDC affiliates globally to address evidence needs around newly developed products and solutions. You will work develop and administer surveys, which seek to identify the evidence needs from affiliate countries, while at the same time to layout the current health policy landscape. The survey results will inform the design of the evidence dossier template. You will also be responsible for assessing and documenting regional activities (e.g. participation in policy or advisory organizations) for Roche Diabetes Care. You are highly self-motivated and willing to work independently, as well as with internal and external partners to complete this project.

This project could potentially be used to complete a master’s thesis.

During your internship your tasks will include:

  • You work together with a consultant to develop surveys to figure out evidence needs and the current health policy and/or public affairs activities in the Roche Diabetes Care affiliate countries.
  • You assess regional activities (e.g. membership, advisory role, etc.) around health policy for Diabetes Care.
  • You identify the top prioritized countries in each region and align with regional representatives (NAM/EMEA/LATAM/APAC) for the surveys.
  • You administer the surveys to the appropriate representatives within the affiliate countries and capture insights on regional activities.
  • You manage the incoming evidence survey results and analyze the data to outline the current evidence needs and identify where there are gaps.
  • You handle the incoming health policy survey results and analyze the data to present the current health policy/public affairs landscape around diabetes care initiatives, which includes identifying gaps, clusters and trend.
  • You determine current capacity level and countries that need global support for health policy/public affairs initiatives.
  • You propose global health policy themes for diabetes care based on landscape results and product portfolio.
  • You propose an evidence dossier template that addresses the evidence needs of the RDC affiliate countries.

Moreover, you are/have:

  • Enrolled in an MPH, MS, MPP or other related degree in health disciplines or health services research
  • Course work or experience in health policy, public policy, research methods, survey design and statistical analysis are preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different types of and levels of evidence needed for various partners (e.g. payers, patients and health care professionals)
  • Insights of global health care systems and types of payers.
  • Knowledge of global advisory and/or non-profit organizations in diabetes.
  • English language fluency and good writing/communication skills

The preferred start date of this internship is summer 2019. Along with your CV, please include a cover letter outlining your motivation and expectations for this internship. Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens needs to provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is a mandatory part of their degree, as part of the application documents.
