ABB’s Corporate Research Group “Materials, Design and Testing” is currently looking for an outstanding M.Sc. student, strongly motivated to work on electric vehicle charging in the frame of a 6 to 12 month internship. During the internship, you will support our research on the topics, providing a substantial contribution to our industrial development program. We offer a friendly and international work environment, and the possibility to gain hands-on experience in an exciting field at the cutting edge of the fourth industrial revolution. Your responsibilities

  • Apply CAD tools for designing advanced components and systems for EV charging
  • Process and characterize metallic and polymeric materials using a range of techniques
  • Assemble and test prototypes of real products

Your background

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related subject (official enrolment for M.Sc. essential)
  • Proficiency in engineering design and CAD/CAE tools is a must
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment and know-how of experimental methods for processing and characterizing metallic and polymeric materials
  • Knowledge about heat transfer and/or electrical design are a plus
  • Well organized, with a strong will to know
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent command of English
