Your role

Are you a developer who loves working with data? Do you want to design and build next generation operational telemetry using the latest technologies?

We’re looking for an intern for a 3 month period who will help us evolve on our aspirations to do more with our data, by:

• helping us frame and execute on some of our predictive/prescriptive use cases
• working with the data that we have, and help derive new advanced analytics uses cases

Your team

We are the Event Monitoring and Data Analytics team within the Technology Operations Center for UBS in Zurich We provide telemetry and intelligent data driven solutions and this benefits our internal clients by giving them intelligent strategic and operational insights to enable them to improve.

Over the past several years, we have matured in terms of our capabilities, and the data that we capture and store. Now is a great time to take this to the next level, and that’s where you come in!

Your expertise

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree or have obtained your master’s degree within the last 6 months.

In particular, you have:

• Knowledge of open source libraries and tools such as D3, Neo4j and React.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and adaptable
• Hands on experience in developing with Splunk or other search-based technologies (ie ELK) highly desirable
• A passion/interest in data analysis

You are:

• A great communicator and team player
• Able to design elegant solutions, write clean code and solve complex business problems
• Able to code in Python and/or other programming languages such as R & Scala and demonstrate and eagerness to learn new things
