Associate Scientist (m/f/d)

The Device Methods Laboratory (DML) is a unique group within Janssen responsible for the end-to-end development and testing of combination products. As a member of a dynamic team of people with diverse and international backgrounds you support ongoing programs in clinical development as well as provide analytical expertise during life-cycle management of commercial products. In your role you are responsible for the functional characterization and testing of combination products in accordance with cGMP. In addition, you provide analytical and technical support during device investigations and perform handling of clinical and commercial complaints.

Your Responsibilities:

• Execution and support of the development, validation and transfer of new test methods for delivery systems such as autoinjectors, needle safety devices and nebulizers in collaboration with members of the DML team
• Responsible for planning and performing device testing such as functional combination product stability studies and design verifications
• Act as analytical expert in troubleshooting
• Evaluate and document analytical results and self-dependently accomplish report writing
• Interact in small interdisciplinary teams and cooperate with external service providers
• Give presentations on projects at internal meetings
• Support maintenance and qualification of analytical instruments
• Prepare and update standard operating procedures and work instructions

Qualifications
For this position we are looking for a motivated, flexible and team-oriented person with the following skills:

• Experience in the field of instrumental analytics
• Strong analytical problem-solving ability
• Good team player with excellent communication skills
• Previous exposure to analytical development with emphasis on combination products or packaging materials in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or other GMP regulated industry
• Independent, efficient and accurate working style
• Good German and English communication skills
• B.S. with 1-2 years’ experience in Analytical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Engineering
