Actelion is a leader in the field of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Our portfolio of PAH treatments covers the spectrum of disease, from WHO Functional Class (FC) II through to FC IV, with oral, inhaled and intravenous medications.

Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a Janssen Pharmaceutical Company of Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting for a:

Senior Manager / Associate Director Market Access PAH

who leads, with some oversight by Manager, broad market and patient access and funding for allocated key brand(s) or indication(s) by leveraging health economic and evidence generation expertise & techniques to deliver customer value and drive achievements of objectives and therapy area strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Closely collaborate with the Compound Market Access Lead to develop and implement product market access strategies for new products / indications
  • Develop and support global health economics and market access tactical plans for assigned indications
  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs team, Epidemiology and the Market Access Hub on evidence generation
  • Be part of cross-functional teams and ensure appropriate clinical trial and other data collection required for HTA/reimbursement and pricing submissions/negotiations.
  • Develop, communicate and train value arguments based on an aligned value story.
  • Preparation and participation in pricing and reimbursement negotiations as well as support of all departments with respect to price and reimbursement topics.

Qualifications

Education

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in appropriate field (Science, Economics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or Public Health)

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry work experience in Health Economics and Outcomes Research or Market Access either at a pharmaceutical company at global, regional or operating company level or a consultancy
  • A thorough understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization and drug development process.
  • Good understanding of Health Economics and clinical research methodologies, meta-analyses, retrospective and prospective data generation activities, clinical trial methodologies, relative effectiveness and all other ingredients of an optimal value proposition and professional HTA or price & reimbursement submissions.
  • Good understanding of major European price & reimbursement system and insight into the European HTA and price & reimbursement landscape, processes, requirements and interactions.
  • Ability to work across functions and geographies, and work constructively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box and propose creative and solid solutions for very complex problems.
  • Excellent networking, listening, presentation, negotiation and scientific writing skills.
  • “Make it happen” and “roll up the sleeves” mentality, drive and motivation, persistence to achieve goals, and real team player.
  • Open for change and flexible attitude to be able to handle a complex, multiple stakeholder environment internally as well as externally
  • Seeing the big picture whilst also being very analytical and with eye for details as needed.
  • Good sense of humor, create a positive working atmosphere and easily establish good relations to people at all levels of the organization
  • This position is based in Allschwil, Switzerland but other locations will be considered; ability to travel globally and domestically 10-20%

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with rare diseases
  • Experience with developing and submission of Reimbursement & Pricing dossiers to key government and private HTA and payer authorities.
  • Strong statistical background

Preferred location for this role is Allschwil in Switzerland. Other EU locations might be considered.
