At our Non-Life Actuarial Centre of Excellence (CoE) we are looking for a Reserving Actuarial Analyst to cover a maternity leave from January to the end of June 2021, to join our dynamic team of Analytics Support & IFRS 17. The CoE Zurich is responsible for reserving General Insurance business in various European countries as well as the Commercial Insurance business in Europe.

Your Role

As a Reserving Actuarial Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Support the development of actuarial solutions for IFRS 17, including development and testing of tools, checking the calculation results to ensure appropriate implementation.
  • Perform closings under IFRS 17 and assess the financial impact of the new accounting standard.
  • Develop and prepare actuarial reports under the new accounting standard.
  • Analyze and understand the results, as well as provide insights to finance, reserving actuaries and project managers.
  • Coordinate activities with finance and accounting to ensure the adequacy of the balance sheet and profit and loss.

Your Skills and Experience

As a Reserving Actuarial Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • University Master’s Degree in mathematics, physics, actuarial sciences, statistics or related field.
  • Either partly qualified actuary (per local society) or willing to pursue the actuarial qualification.
  • Very good English language skills.
  • Experience with reserving methods is an advantage.
  • Data management and good programming skills (e.g. SAS, VBA, R) are considered as a strong plus.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines. Team player showing enthusiasm, curiosity and positive attitude
