Who we are
You will be working in the Data and Analytics (DnA) chapter in Roche Pharma International Informatics (PIIX). At Roche, we believe data analytics methods can facilitate physicians’ efforts to provide better care. In the DnA chapter, we leverage the potential of knowledge gained from data.
The chapter consists of five teams:
Business Engagement: Defining the strategy and enabling portfolio decision making
Innovation: Employing cutting-edge technologies to handle data and business logic to take decisions based on information collected
Data Science & Advanced Analytics: Bringing end-to-end analytics by gathering insights from new and existing data assets
Solutions & Platform: Providing the GTM Data Lake for ad-hoc data integration and analytical capabilities
Machine Learning: Building collective intelligence using deep neural networks
Your responsibilities
As a communications and business development intern you will support the leadership team in its projects and take on individual assignments on your own. The goal of this internship is to assist in the design and delivery of international as well as external communication and facilitate employee engagement channels that will provide valuable information, news, and resources. Furthermore, you will support the communication deliverables for our internal website, publications, talent attraction, events and cultural transformation.
Your main tasks would include:
- Reach out to digital content owners and other stakeholders too
- Accountability for driving the task/project towards final deliverable support the creation of G-sites and other digital and social channels for employee engagement. Develop new ways of information handling
- Manage slide decks, newsletters and internal announcements regarding people, organizational change, strategy implementation
- Supporting coordination with internal and/or external stakeholder (e.g. with universities, scientific associations, research institutes)
- Collecting and analysing data to extract valuable insights that drive strategic decision making
- Assist in the planning and organization of events (chapter meetings, seminars, training workshops, etc.)
- Creative content and graphic design

Your qualifications
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Communications, Digital or Social Media Marketing, or a degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Technology
- Strong communications, creative skills with first experience in digital and social media competency
- Keen on working with/integrating technical platforms and content management systems. Knowledge of Google Suite apps is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize within an interdisciplinary environment that includes scientists, engineers, business and consultants.
- Strong writing skills and creative thinking to be able to translate complex topics into simple, engaging communication campaigns
- Skilled and a strong interest in producing creative content, with experience in video and graphic work an advantage
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with leaders and departments
- Strong teammate, highly collaborative with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Fluency in English
