As part of the Polaris team you transform Swisscom raw network data into country-wide mobility and network insights.

What you achieve

You will work with our team of software engineers, data engineers and data scientists, who are passionate about building data and machine learning products. We invent and implement algorithms and design and build systems while leveraging knowledge from domains like machine learning, graph theory, distributed systems, data mining, and privacy engineering.
We are strong supporters of Open Source and we love to try different technologies, tools and languages. Your tasks will vary from Data Science through Big Data engineering to Software development and DevOps. You interact with data scientists, Big Data and DevOps engineers as well as product managers and business developers. You work in an international team with significant cultural diversity and a strong focus on creating value from the massive amount of data that is available at Swisscom.

Why you succeed

  • Degree (Uni/UAS/technical college) in computer science or related field
  • Curious and motivated to experiment with new technologies and tools
  • Software development skills in Python or Scala
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience in CI/CD and bash scripting
  • Know how in building scalable and robust REST APIs a plus
  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies, relational databases and/or web front-end development is a big plus.
  • Comprehension of data science and computer security a plus
  • Very good English, German or French are a plus
