Roche Postdoctoral Position in Neurodevelopmental Genomics of Drug Response (start July 2021, 2 years)
As a post-doctoral fellow in Neuroscience & Rare Disease (NRD), you will have the privilege of assuming a dual and highly collaborative role in both the NRD Research and Biomarker and Translational Technologies units.
This position will be four-pronged in that the candidate will be tasked with the following
- leverage internal and external genomics data to validate the implication of certain targets in Autism Spectrum Disorder;
- design functional experiments to validate critical pharmacogenomics findings;
- contribute to design and genomic findings related to multiple drug programs in the neurodevelopmental space;
- contribute to the global gene therapy strategy within Neuroscience and Rare Disease by proposing novel targets and doing relevant due diligence.
Your main responsibilities will be
Plan and execute genomic analyses of internal and external cohorts of individuals ascertained for developmental delay and Autism Spectrum Disorders
Contribute to the overall strategy of different drug programs within the Neuroscience and Rare Disease portfolio, leveraging genomic data obtained through internal efforts and external collaborations
Design functional experiments in cell and animal models to follow-up on pharmacogenomics findings
Present your data to different stakeholders and teams within the company on a regular basis
Who you are
You have a doctoral degree conferred in human genetics or developmental biology
You have a strong grounding in the use of molecular genetic techniques and the study of neurodevelopmental disorders
Proficient in bioinformatics tools used to manipulate genomic data
You are experienced in molecular techniques including, but not restricted to: PCR, cloning, cell culture, tissue preparation, animal husbandry
Applicants with relevant previous industrial experience will be prioritized, as the role will require the candidate to interface with groups across research and biomarker divisions of Neuroscience and Rare Disease
Being driven and capable of independently executing analyses and having good communication skills are necessary, given the highly-collaborative nature of the position
The preferred start date is July 2021.
