As part of the global technical development organization, Solid State Sciences is responsible for all solid-state aspects of the active pharmaceutical ingredients, including solid-form screening, solid-form characterization, solid-form selection, final and finishing steps of the drug substance manufacturing process, and the solid-form control strategy.
You will support the Solid Form Screening group in different scientific research areas, such as:
- Water activity / temperature phase diagrams for solid form control
- Transition temperature of enantiotropic polymorph pairs via solubility measurements
Your work will involve planning and carrying out laboratory work as well as interpreting, documenting, and presenting your results. You will be supported by experts in the field who will encourage you to come up with your own ideas and suggestions. To this end, you may also interact with experts outside the team and consult the scientific literature.
Who you are:
You are preferably a master student in the subject of Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Physics, and you have an interest in Solid State Sciences. Furthermore, you are interested in using and sharing your knowledge as part your Internship in a modern working environment. Your further profile for this position:
- Experience working in a chemical laboratory
- Reliable and accurate working style in an interdisciplinary environment
- Independent working methods and decision-making personality
- Problem solving-oriented work habits
- Origin or Matlab skills are a plus but no requirement
- Experience in wet chemical analytical methods and/or X-Ray diffraction methods are a plus
- Proficient in English, German is a plus

- For Non-EU/EFTA citizens: Due to regulations, you must provide a certificate issued by your university stating that an Internship is mandatory for your studies. Failure to do so will result in your application not being considered further.

In case the first review of your application was successful, we are going to invite you to an Online Assessment around the end of August.
All successful final candidates will be invited to a virtual interview day which will take place 20.10.2021.
The Internship will start in 2022 for 6 - 12 month, please indicate your preferred start date and duration in your application.
