Position Summary

We are currently in search of an Associate Director of Statistics to join our growing team, which supports research in the Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) therapeutic area.

Representing statistics in cross-functional study teams and clinical sub teams, you will provide lead support for the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data evidence for late development programs. You will Identify and assist in the implementation of innovative statistical approaches. With collaborative leadership you will provide input to program plans.

This is an exciting and challenging role for a candidate who has extensive experiences in drug development and strong interest in applying innovative statistical approaches to rare diseases in the PH therapeutic area. You are expected to have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary contexts outside statistics. Experience in PH, health authority interactions, complex adaptive designs, synthetic control arms and real-world data is an advantage.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plays a central role in sharing knowledge and providing input across all SDS support (Pre/Early/Late Development, Research & Discovery, Medical Affairs, Real World Evidence, and Manufacturing Sciences) for a Disease/Functional Area.
  • Identifies opportunities for innovation, participates in program reviews/discussions
  • Represents SDS on cross-functional & intra-departmental teams
  • Works with external consultants to provide support in the development & implementation of innovative methods & designs
  • Collaborates in talent identification, hiring and development for the group

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Statistics or related field with minimum 6 years relevant experience, or Master’s in Statistics or related field with commensurate years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in SAS or R programming.
  • Highly effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary contexts outside statistics.
  • Experience in regulatory activities (e.g. submissions, interactions with Health Authorities) is advantageous.
  • Has an advanced understanding of drug development processes and programs.
