As proud winner of the renowned industrial competition «Factory of the Year 2018» in the category «Excellent Location Safeguarding by Digitalization», ABB Semiconductors develops and manufactures a wide variety of high-power semiconductors using future oriented technologies with high reliability. Our products are used in the segments of energy transmission and distribution, transportation, e-mobility, industry and renewable energies. The product portfolio comprises IGBTs, IGCTs, Thyristors, GTOs and Diodes in the power range of 150 up to 12000 A and 200 up to 8500 V at the highest levels of quality. We are currently looking to appoint a high-calibre Production Quality Engineer for our BiMOS team in Lenzburg, Switzerland. In this role, you will be responsible for the integration of the newly developed automotive power semiconductor module from the prototype level to the volume production, establish a sound database of production and test data, set up respective reports and drive improvement activities based on statistical data analysis. As responsible person for the alignment of the product risk assessment, you coordinate activities between the process and test engineering and the R&D department and support the investment in a state-of-the-art production line.

Tasks:

  • Yield engineering on current automotive sampling production (A- & B-samples)
  • Overall data collection and test data collection management and build up yield and product reporting
  • Product data analysis and correlation
  • Derive improvement measures in collaboration with process, test and equipment engineering
  • Coordinate and interpret failure analysis on all levels of production (prototype and volume)
  • Own design and process FMEAs and manage hand over of product development into production
  • Define Yield reporting and improvement matrix for automotive volume line
  • Drive and execute improvement projects to optimize product quality, yield, and cost baseline with the help of Six Sigma, lean production, 8D, and other methods

Requirements:

  • Solid degree in a discipline of relevance to the position, e.g., Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or Electrical Engineering
  • Recent graduates with a higher degree (MSc, PhD) or seasoned professionals with experience in an IATF 16949 production environment
  • Six Sigma (Green Belt) qualifications - or equivalent - preferable
  • Team spirit as well as a global outlook with strong execution capabilities and cross-functional mindset
  • Ability to work within an international environment, complemented by well-developed communication skills
  • Good command of German and English, both written and spoken (Level B2/C1)
