Working Student – Zurich Risk Room 60-100%, temporary for 6 months

The Zurich Risk Room (ZRR) team within Group Risk Management is responsible for delivering country risk data and insights to Zurich’s commercial customers around the world through the ZRR platform. The ZRR is Zurich’s proprietary country risk analysis and visualization tool, which helps companies with international operations cutting through the complexity of ever changing risk environments and reach their full potential in making better informed risk management and strategic decisions. One of Zurich’s key global Thought Leadership initiatives associated with the Zurich Risk Room is the annual Zurich Enterprise Challenge, a global university competition that pairs students from universities around the world with selected multinational companies to solve some of their key corporate challenges. The Zurich Enterprise Challenge is one of the ways through which Zurich supports their customers beyond pure risk transfer, i.e. by providing risk insights to real-world corporate challenges.

The successful candidate will work as a key stakeholder in the organization and management of the Zurich Enterprise Challenge. This includes the management of all Zurich Enterprise Challenge logistics, communications with key stakeholders at senior management and C-suite level of some of Zurich’s biggest multinational commercial customers, leading participating student teams and coordinating their customer engagements, and coordination with Marketing and other Zurich stakeholders. Furthermore, the candidate will play a key role in the development of Zurich Risk Room customer use cases, the maintenance and further enhancement of the Zurich Risk Room data operating model and the extension of the Zurich Risk Room data universe.

Your Role

As a Working Student your main responsibilities will involve:

• Organize, manage and lead assigned tasks as part of the Zurich Enterprise Challenge
• Support the development of Zurich Risk Room customer use cases
• Work in close coordination with the team’s Data and Operations Manager to maintain, improve and enhance the quality, integrity and reliability of the Zurich Risk Room data model, to identify areas of improvement of the current Zurich Risk Room data universe, and to include new risk indicators.

Your Skills and Experience

As a Working Student your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

• Currently enrolled at a university, pursuing a degree, preferably in Business Administration / Management, Economics, Political Sciences or similar studies
• Previous working experience in Insurance (Underwriting / Risk Engineering / Claims), Risk Management, Strategy / Business Development / M&A, Operations or other related corporate functions; additional experience in Management Consulting / Advisory is an asset, but not mandatory
• Proactive mindset with very strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Very strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, MS SQL and R (or related programming languages and statistical software packages)
• Proficiency in English, knowledge of German and other languages is an asset
