Your role

Fixed Income credit research is a challenging and diversified discipline. In essence, credit analysts in the Swiss Credit Research team are expected to develop a thorough understanding of Swiss corporate issuers and their key credit drivers. Responsibilities include following credit, sector and industry trends on a daily basis, tracking company news/events and preparing brief morning comments as well as more thorough research reports, based on detailed financial statement analysis and company meetings. They assign credit ratings on bond issuers (fundamental view) and issue trade recommendations on bonds outstanding (relative value assessment), which are communicated and marketed to both internal and external clients (institutional investors).

An internship in credit research delivers a deep understanding of fundamental credit analysis methodologies and methods and therein forms an ideal starting point for a successful career in any research or investment-related environment.

Your team

Interns in the Swiss credit research team are expected to support senior analysts in all steps of the process: sourcing and maintenance of financial data, financial modelling as well as the preparation of research reports (in English) and client presentations. Attendance of the daily sales and trading morning meeting is also required.

Your experience and skills

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree and have not yet completed your master’s degree.

In particular, you have:

  • Base knowledge of fixed income markets is advantageous
  • Already gained work experience, preferably in the financial industry
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Candidate must be a team player as well as a self-starter
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), preferably also some knowledge of Bloomberg
  • Strong English and German language skills (both spoken and written)

  • come up with ideas
