Your role

Are you interested in sector and thematically driven Equity Research? Do you have a passion for financial markets? Are you an innovative thinker? We’re looking for someone like that for the next six months to:

  • Support equity analysts in their daily business and get a better understanding of what equity analysis at UBS Global Wealth Management is all about.
  • Create IT tools and solutions to support the whole equity team.
  • Actively support the equity research team to contribute in the creation and after-sales of equity-related thematic investment ideas, support the team in their need to prepare presentations and participate in interesting one-off projects.
  • Join decision making meetings and meet senior management of interesting companies under coverage.
  • Enjoy regular contact with senior analysts and strategists within CIO globally but also with analysts, strategists and economist from bulge-bracket international investment banks

Your team

The Chief Investment Office (CIO) is an investment department that creates research and content on topics such as financial markets, economics, sustainability, and a broad based thematic trends such as disruptive technologies. You’ll be working in the Equity Research team in Zürich, which forms an integral part of CIO within UBS Global Wealth Management. We are an internationally diverse, ambitious and fun team, passionate about creating equity related thematic research ideas as the backbone of the UBS Global Wealth Management equity franchise.

Your experience and skills

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree and have not yet completed your master’s degree.

In particular, you have:

  • the skills to develop certain IT tools and solutions to support the whole equity team. A good command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must
  • an interest in financial markets, numbers, models and products
  • an autonomous, diligent and detail-oriented work style
  • a flexible, open-minded and cooperative personality
  • the ability to write well in English, with German skills being beneficial

But we’d like to also see evidence that you can:

  • analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
  • plan, organize and communicate well
  • make things happen
  • come up with ideas

Perhaps you’ve organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or persevered and passed an exam in a subject you found challenging? Think about how things you’ve achieved match the skills we’re after.
