At Roche, we believe it’s urgent to deliver medical solutions right now - even as we develop innovations for the future. We are passionate about transforming patients’ lives. We are brave in both decision and action, we believe that good business means a better world.

The in-vivo group within the Neurosymptomatic domains and neurodevelopmental disorders sections of the Neuroscience department consists of four laboratory heads and eight technicians. The group is responsible for providing the full range of expertise and technologies to profile molecules in preclinical models of brain disorders, throughout the course of the drug discovery process.

We are looking for a Master’s student who will study circadian rhythms (CR) in rodent models for neurodevelopmental disease (NDD). Disturbances of sleep-wake patterns such as fragmented rhythms are very common in psychiatric disorders. CR are deeply conserved and can be well studied in rodents. There is the opportunity to write a Master thesis while staying with us.

  • design experiments to influence circadian rhythms in these models

  • analyse large data sets with specialised software, spreadsheets, and customised analytical and statistical tools (R-Script based)
