About the Role
Are you passionate about becoming part of a growing and ambitious team within the established Swiss Re environment? Life Capital comprises a number of start-up units, established to provide creative insurance solutions directly to consumers. Our mission is to reduce the insurance gap by making insurance more approachable to people. This means making insurance easier to sell, to buy and to trust.

In Risk Management we are responsible for setting out the conditions under which the Company is willing to take risk. You will make sure that our Boards and Management are aware and understand the risk we are taking. As member of the team you are involved in a broad range of work, including all aspects of Risk Management:
• Partner on the internal risk reporting. Evaluate capital adequacy, risk limit usage and risk profile
• Evaluate and analyse quarterly capital and risk results. Support the annual regulatory capital/risk processes
• Help with risk modelling activities - primarily Swiss Solvency Test (SST)
• Support liability reserving across all bases
• Support risk reviews of key projects (e.g. M&A, projects, reinsurance, investment allocation, new products/distributors.)
• Provide Insurance Risk Reviews and underwriting/costing oversight activities
• Create different documents for various committees
• Support several Risk Management activities
• Dealing with different projects and ad-hoc activities

About the Team
The Life Capital Risk Management (RM) Centre team was built in 2018 to consolidate Life Capital's Risk Management expertise. The team's remit is global, includes all areas of RM across the Life Capital Business Unit and provides support to its legal unit Chief Risk Officers. As such team members will be involved in all aspects of Risk Management like risk oversight, risk/capital modelling, risk reporting/compliance, actuarial, operational RM.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the global LCBU growth. Our team is small and focused, and evolving with the growing business. The team's remit is global, we look after all areas of risk across the Business Unit and provide support to legal entity CROs. You will work closely with the business on key strategic projects and new opportunities, helping deliver the rapid growth of the business.

About You
• You have successfully completed your university degree, preferably in quantitative field like finance, mathematics or equivalent
• You have confirmed analytical skills; can pay attention to details without losing track of the bigger picture
• Strong interest in/dedication to learn about insurance/reinsurance
• Approach problems with curiosity and flexibility, is a fast learner
• Creative, showing a high degree of own initiative
• You are a team-player, willing to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
• Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment, and to be mobile in terms of workplace or location
• Aptitude to express yourself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups
• Mature & self-confident; Able to work with clients, strategic partners or senior colleagues
• Able to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment and work independently and proactively
• Excellent oral and written English skills; additional language skills advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Matlab would be an advantage
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
