About the Programme

We are looking for graduates with strong interpersonal skills, who are eager to learn and broaden their knowledge and expertise. You have a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree with up to 3 years professional experience - we invite you to apply to our graduates@swissre programme 2022.

About the role

This graduate position provides you with a unique chance to be part of the Reinsurance Strategy & CEO Office team!

The main focus of our team is to lead and coordinate key projects for the Reinsurance Business Unit, to prepare and evaluate competitor and market intelligence and to support the CEO Reinsurance and the Reinsurance Management Team.

As a Graduate Reinsurance Strategy Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Initiate, develop and support projects that contribute to the Reinsurance business unit’s strategic priorities, covering both Property & Casualty and Life & Health themes on a global basis.

  • Assist with competitor analysis and monitoring of market trends and business activities.

  • Take responsibility for research on named competitors; assist with research on other competitors. Includes collaborating closely with Group Strategy and SR Institute teams.

  • Prepare presentations and ad-hoc analysis for senior Reinsurance leaders, management meetings and external communication (e.g. Rating Agency meetings and Investor Days).

  • Build an understanding of key issues facing our Business Unit and identify how Reinsurance should respond

About You

  • Successfully completed university degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent

  • Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance

  • Strong commercial sense and are able to put yourself into our client’s position

  • Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner

  • Innovative, showing a high degree of own initiative

  • Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit

  • Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment, and to be mobile in terms of workplace or location if required

  • Aptitude to express yourself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups

  • Mature & self-confident; able to work with clients, business partners or senior colleagues

  • Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment

  • Ability to work independently and proactively

  • Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture

  • Excellent oral and written English skills; additional language skills advantageous

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
