Our Deal Analytics practice generates data-driven insights through advanced techniques to help clients make better strategic decisions, uncover value and improve returns on their investments. Our practice is a blend of professionals with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds, including financial, commercial, operational and data science.

Your tasks

• As part of our Deal Analytics team, you are using a broad range of state-of-the-art tools and techniques to extract insights from large data sets, helping clients make more informed M&A decisions.
• You will work on financial and commercial due diligence projects on the buy- and sell-side, leveraging company, alternative and market data sets to draw insight on a target’s competitive positioning and performance.
• You will process (e.g. extract, transform, and load), analyze, and visualize complex data sets to help clients design and develop business intelligence (BI) tools, allowing them to monitor KPIs and identify value creation opportunities post-close.
• You participate in internal and client meetings and prepare written reports, summarizing findings in a concise, articulate manner, using straightforward communication and effective story-telling.
• You will help upskill our broader Deals team’s digital capabilities and assist in developing tools to drive automation and efficiencies across our practice.

Your profile

• Current or completed studies in business administration / management, data science / analytics, economics, finance, statistics, or computer and information science, with have a strong interest in solving quantitative and analytical challenges.
• First practical experience from internships or previous positions in high performing teams, preferably in data analytics, Consulting, Big 4 and / or private equity. You have worked in a dynamic, collaborative environment under time sensitive deadlines.
• Initial experience in leveraging data and business intelligence software to turn data into actionable insights on company performance. Strong understanding of and interest in financial statements, business cycles, due diligence, financial modelling and value drivers.
• Strong familiarity and practical experience with data extraction / transformation, analytics, and visualization approaches as well as a high degree of data fluency. Experience working with relational databases / data models preferred.
• Proven skills in Excel, Alteryx, PowerBI and / or Tableau. Knowledge and experience with basic programming is preferred but not required (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Matlab, C++, etc.)
• High degree of collaboration, ingenuity, and innovation to apply tools and techniques to address client questions. Effective communication in fluent English and German are a must.
