Your role

Are you passionate about the potential of big data to change the way the financial industry works? Do you want to be at the cutting edge of an exciting and rapidly evolving field? Then we are looking for you as a new joiner to our Financial Crime Analytics team to:

  • apply state-of-the-art data mining and management techniques;
  • develop machine learning, statistical and scoring algorithms to analyse and discover emerging compliance and operational risks (e.g. money laundering risks, terrorism financing risks, sanctions risks and bribery and corruption risks);
  • contribute to projects related to financial crime risk mitigation, control and management across UBS business divisions.

Your team

You will be working in the Risk Assessments and Analytics team within global C&ORC Financial Crime function. We work as a gatekeeper in preventing money laundering, corruption, sanctions and terrorism financing risks for the bank.

Your experience and skills

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree at the university or the university of applied sciences, ideally Applied Mathematics / Computer Science / Physics and have not yet completed your master’s degree.

In particular, you have:

  • solid data analytics and/or data science skills (e.g. SQL, access, business objects, excel). Experience with Tableau and statistical programs is an advantage
  • a gift for using numerical analysis, statistics and mathematics to solve practical problems
  • proven numerical and quantitative skills for understanding and applying quantitative models
  • open, flexible, self-confident, with and attitude geared towards high performance
  • very quick learner in a variety of disciplines, and able to move smoothly between different topics
  • analyze a problem, take a view and propose solutions
  • team player with ability to make things happen and stick with an individual task
  • excellent English skills

But we’d like to also see evidence that you can:
