The R&D team Semiconductor Packaging and Applied Materials at our Swiss Hitachi Energy Research Center is looking for an intern student with expertise in materials and analytical methods to contribute to the development of novel insulating materials for high-voltage power grid applications. If you have a strong technical background, motivation to develop innovative solutions, and you are goal-oriented, this is your opportunity to interact with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team and contribute to a more sustainable energy future. The planned duration of the internship is six months.
Your responsibilities
- Contribute to current research projects and extend your knowledge focusing on innovative insulation for high voltage applications
- Prepare and characterize materials (polymers, composites, ceramics, gases)
- Study the relationship between process parameters, microstructure and material characteristics and document findings and present test results to the team
Your background
- Currently pursuing a M.Sc. degree in Materials Science, Chemistry or similar discipline
- Experience in laboratory work and know-how in experimental methods using a wide range of advanced materials characterization techniques
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated mindset and ability to work independently
- Highly conscientious individual with keen sense of responsibility
- Fluency in written and spoken English (any other language is a benefit) and good communication and technical writing skills
- Motivated and eager to learn more and become part of a multidisciplinary research team focused on innovation
