Our Research department is focusing on the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes for microbially-produced biopharmaceuticals, especially for proteins. Our goal is the successful development of processes while following regulatory, technical and production requirements and the subsequent technology transfer to manufacturing. We currently have a position for an internship and are looking for a student motivated to discover the biopharmaceutical drug manufacturing world.

What we expect from you:

You are interested in the field of biology and you would like to gain first-hand insight in the biopharmaceutical industry. You will have the opportunity to follow the development of a process to produce a new biomolecule. This process starts with the engineering of an expression strain that will produce the target molecule, the fermentation of this micro-organism to accumulate the product and its separation from all the other impurities. Along this voyage, you will discover the numerous analytical techniques required to monitor and control these steps in order to provide a molecule that can be ultimately used to treat patient.
