2027 Graduate Talent Program – Tech – Software Engineer – Zurich

Your role

Interested in working in finance, and have a passion for technology, but not sure where to start? Do you want to work for a firm with a truly global footprint?

We’re looking for ambitious students to join our 2027 Group Technology Office Graduate Talent Program.

You’ll get to:

• contribute to the development, testing, and support of our global securities trading platforms
• work with modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development using GitHub Copilot and specification-driven delivery
• build and enhance frontend and backend components in collaboration with experienced engineers and product specialists
• participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and technical discussions
  -ncollaborate with colleagues across teams, locations, and disciplines to deliver business value
  continuously develop your technical and professional skills through hands-on experience, mentoring, and training

Your team

You will be working in the Order Capture Pod of the Securities Trading Crew within the Trade & Transfer Assets stream.
We build and support strategic applications that enable the capture and processing of securities trades across UBS. Our trading applications serve clients, client advisors, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Our teams work closely with business representatives and technology partners to deliver solutions that are based on your interests and experience, you could be placed as a Software Engineering Graduate.

Your expertise

We’re looking for a candidate who:

• is a recent graduate (graduated in the last 24 months)
• has fully completed their degree and met all graduation requirements by the program start date
• has completed their bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a MINT topic.
• has values that align with ours: hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative
• is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills
• is motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines
• can evidence how experimental and responsible use of AI can improve outcomes and efficiency
• has a competitive minimum GPA of 4.5 according to the Swiss grading system
• knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles
• knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and an interest in modern web technologies
• understanding of software development fundamentals, including testing, source control, and application design
• basic knowledge of databases, SQL, and API-based development
• exposure to development tools such as Git, IntelliJ IDEA, VSCode, Jira, Maven, Gradle, or similar technologies through academic, internship, or personal projects

Start date: 1 February 2027

Our Graduate Talent Program is 18-months long and is designed to help you develop the skills you need to grow your career. To start, the program introduces you to our firm, provides professional and technical training and teaches you core skills and knowledge of commercial strategies and opportunities for UBS. And it continues from there: by learning from your colleagues, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and build your network. You’ll have the opportunity to see beyond your job by participating in one, or several, rotations. If you’re ready to work where no two days are the same, this program is for you.
