Graduate Trainee Program in HR Operations

Join Global Projects Services AG, a Zurich-based company within the global Saipem Group. 

Our Graduate Trainee Program is designed to prepare you for a permanent role as an HR Operations Generalist within our organization. This is more than a traditional HR role. You will contribute to supporting the people who make complex projects possible across the globe, from offshore vessels and construction sites to remote operational locations. Behind every international assignment, crew change and project mobilization, there is a team ensuring employees are supported, compliant, protected and ready to perform. Through structured rotations across key HR, finance and support functions, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of how people operations enable the successful delivery of global projects. You will work in a multicultural environment supporting a workforce of more than 8,000 employees operating across multiple countries, cultures and time zones. 

Throughout the program, you will discover how recruitment, compensation, payroll, global mobility, insurance, compliance and operational planning come together to support employees throughout their international journey. You will also gain exposure to the commercial and financial aspects of workforce management and understand how people-related decisions influence business performance.

With the support of experienced professionals, you will progressively assume responsibilities and develop the knowledge and skills required for a future career in international HR Operations.

• Recruitment and employee selection processes 

• Contract administration and mobilization activities 

• Employee support and assignment management 

• Demobilization and assignment closure 

• HR systems, tools and procedures 

Compensation, benefits and employment compliance 

• Compensation structures and salary benchmarking 

• Employee benefits and insurance programs 

• Labour law and compliance principles 

• Employment case management and risk awareness 

Payroll and workforce cost management 

• Payroll processes and salary calculations 

• Labour cost structures and statutory contributions 

• Timesheet management, payroll controls and tax administration 

Business operations and financial impact 

• Work order and billing processes 

• Cost recovery mechanisms and operational reporting 

• Cost allocation principles 

• Budgeting, reporting and performance monitoring 

By working across these areas, you will develop a complete understanding of how international assignments are managed, supported and reflected in business operations. You will collaborate with colleagues across multiple departments and gain the broader perspective required for a future role in HR Operations. 

• A recently completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field 

• A genuine interest in Human Resources and international workforce management 

• A structured and detail-oriented approach to work 

• A proactive mindset and willingness to learn across different HR disciplines 

• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills 

• Fluency in English, any other language is a plus
