Internship in Mechanical and System Simulations for High Voltage Circuit Breakers 80 - 100% (f/m/d)
The opportunity
Join an innovative and collaborative engineering team shaping the future of high-voltage technology. You will contribute to the development of next-generation SF6-free circuit breakers in a supportive and knowledge-sharing environment. This role offers hands-on experience with simulations, measurements, and cutting-edge engineering tools. You will learn from experienced mentors while taking ownership of meaningful tasks. The position supports continuous learning, curiosity, and professional growth. Duration of the internship is 9-12 months.
How you’ll make an impact
- Support development of SF6-free high-voltage circuit breakers through simulations
- Perform system simulations of circuit breakers to support design decisions
- Pre and post processing of simulations models and results
- Test data analysis and preparation of the simulation input files
- Use and further develop internally established simulation tools
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams in circuit breaker development
Your background
- Enrolled Student (preferably Master) or Graduate in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of simulations associated with mechanical and electrical engineering applications
- Knowledge of mechanics and material strength (practical skills in ABAQUS or similar finite element code is advantageous)
- Knowledge and practical skills of Modelica language and Dymola are advantageous
- Strong programming skills and interest in Python
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative independently
