Product Control is focused on the trading and treasury activities of Julius Baer. Independent compilations of profit and loss figures allow for a transparent and save business environment ensuring accurate financial reporting. Front to back reconciliations of positions, cash accounts and profit and loss statements ensure data integrity across systems; parameter checks ensure proper and consistent valuations.
Product Control collaborates closely with Trading, Middle Office, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Model Validation, Market Risk and Risk Governance to ensure the soundness and suitability of balance sheet risk management and solidity of trading’s financial result in Julius Baer.
Within the DCFO Products & Balance Sheet department, Product Control (PC) assures daily operations in terms of profit and loss substantiation and reporting, Front to back reconciliation, reconciliation with financial accounting and price testing for all trading activities.
YOUR CHALLENGE
- Develop and maintain automated scripts and workflows using Python, SQL, and Dataiku to streamline financial reporting and reconciliation processes
- Extract, transform, and analyse large datasets from various source systems to support daily and monthly Product Control activities
- Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement technical solutions
- Assist in building dashboards in Tableau and reports
- Support the validation and documentation of financial data inputs, outputs and processes
- Contribute to the maintenance and execution of critical control deliverables under tight deadlines
YOUR PROFILE
- Currently, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience in Risk or Finance is plus
- Strong technical skills in programming languages such as Python, SQL.
- Experience or familiarity with data visualization tools such as Dataiku and Tableau is plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technology and methodologies is must
- Business fluency in English
