Tobias Baitsch is an architect and urban researcher. He obtained his PhD from EPFL in Lausanne with a thesis on user-oriented urbanisation processes in Mumbai and has been teaching there since 2015 on urbanisation in the context of population growth and limited resources. Further research stays have taken him to institutions including UCL in London. In 2019, he joined Bern University of Applied Sciences as a research fellow, where he teaches and conducts research. He has been Head of the Institute of Urbanism, Architecture and Civil Engineering since 2024.
