Within Zurich Commercial Insurance Switzerland we are looking for two Team Leaders in the area of Operations and Underwriting Services:

• Head of Underwriting Services Producing for Property, Engineering Lines and Marine

• Head of Underwriting Services Producing for Liability, Financial Lines and Motor

The Head of Underwriting Services Producing is responsible for leading a customer services team to support the company’s financial and business objectives.

Together with the team, you will guarantee a customer-oriented implementation of international insurance programs. The appropriate support to underwriters in the areas of underwriting operations, procedures, implementation of Zurich’s International Programs (IPZ), namely the coordination of local policies (issuance, cash collection), are core elements of the role.

In addition, you will ensure an appropriate market interaction with customers, brokers and internal parties and stakeholders across Switzerland and the international network. As the Head of Underwriting Services Producing for Property, Engineering Lines and Marine you will be furthermore responsible for driving the operational transformation and supporting the planning process and management of the Business Unit.

Your Role

As the Head of Underwriting Services Producing your main responsibilities will involve:

Customer

• Ensure and manage the overall account servicing and market facing activity for International Program customers.
• Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication.
• Establish/streamline/maintain business processes which positively impact service levels and therefore contribute to the maintenance and improvement of Commercial Insurance’s customer satisfaction and retention rate.
• Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools.
• Ensure appropriate actions are taken timely for customer feedbacks and complaints throughout the company.

Operations & Transformation

• Meet qualitative and quantitative expectations (KPIs) regarding quality, consistency and speed of service delivery.
• Ensure high data quality.
• Further develop the function within Commercial Insurance Switzerland and in the context of Zurich’s International Programs Network (IPZ).
• Proactively make sure that open items are being addressed.
• Provide support to Sales & Underwriting in selected pre-bound activities.
• Deliver on agreed project work.

People

• Build an effective team by ensuring retention, motivation and development of key staff.
• Establish and maintain a clear vision, strategy, objectives and performance standards for the team and conduct regular (performance) reviews.
• Provide business and function leadership to the team so they can achieve maximum efficiency and business results.
• Enable training and knowledge management, as well as sound governance and full compliance at all times.
• Manage resources consistent with local expense target.

Your Skills and Experience

As the Head of Underwriting Services Producing, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

• Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or Risk Management
• At least 5 years of managerial experience in insurance sector with strong international exposure.
• Good understanding of insurance industry, International Program Business and related operating models.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Fluency in German (working language) and English (verbal and written) is a must criterion, while any other language is a plus.
• Proven project and process management experience.
• Collaborative management style, understanding of organizational relationships and effective interaction styles.
• Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve ambitious goals and to actively contribute to a constructive team working environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal positively with ambiguity/conflicting interests as well as build strong relationships
• Highly motivated self-starter who is willing to learn and therefore broaden his/her knowledge.
• Energetic and positive personality with the ability to think creatively, drive new solutions through a structured problem-solving approach and a “can-do” attitude to make things happen.

Additional Information

Work location is Zürich.

The travel requirement is up to 10%, both locally and internationally.
