The opportunity
Join our Semiconductor Packaging and Reliability Engineering team at the Hitachi Energy Research Center in Baden-Dättwil. You will contribute to the reliability of HVDC systems, a key technology for sustainable energy transmission. In a collaborative and inclusive environment, you’ll work closely with experienced researchers and gain deep insights into real-world reliability challenges. This 6 - 12 months internship offers you the chance to grow technically and personally while shaping the energy systems of tomorrow.
How you’ll make an impact
- Assist in researching and developing the reliability profile of HVDC station on the component level
- Assist in developing and applying novel statistical and mathematical models for reliability analysis
- Developing and implementing stochastic reliability models for components in HVDC stations
- Document and communicate solutions developed to ensure knowledge transfer within the research team and stakeholders
Your background
- Currently pursuing a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, physics, applied mathemat-ics, mechanical engineering or a related discipline (official enrolment is essential)
- Programing skills, ideally in Python, for software development, data analysis, and machine learning
- Understanding fundamental concepts in statistics and probability
- Familiarity with reliability engineering
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, think creatively, and enjoy working independently
