At Sensor and Reagent Development BGE, we are innovators at the forefront of healthcare technologies. Our highly skilled team of scientists and engineers designs and develops sensors and reagents critical for blood gas and electrolyte (BGE) analyzers, which play a vital role in ensuring accurate and reliable patient diagnostics that impact lives every day.
The Opportunity
● Support Manufacturing Process Development:
Collaborate with the R&D and operations teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes for thick film sensors for a new product development project.
● Experimental studies:
Conduct and support experimental studies related to material preparation and processing for thick film sensors, especially printing pastes and polymer solutions.
This includes characterization of raw material, processing, and analyses of the process outputs. Measuring technologies comprise e.g. rheological investigations and surface characterization.
● Method development:
Based on study results and data analyses, propose methods (as work instructions, measuring methods for material and process monitoring) for production control
● Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of process development activities, data analysis results, and method definition.
Who You Are
- You are currently enrolled in or have completed your Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD studies within 12 months prior to the internship’s start date, ideally in the fields of Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and you are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship.
- You have a solid educational background in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a closely related technical field, which is essential for this role.
- You are experienced in scientific material and surface characterization, with the ability to confidently handle various analytical methods and data interpretation, which is a key requirement for the position.
- Skills in the development of material deposition processes, advanced characterization techniques, and relevant data processing tools are a strong advantage, adding significant value to this opportunity.
- You are technically inclined and curious, with a keen interest in understanding complex material systems and production processes, including areas such as thick film technology and sensor fabrication, which will be an asset in this role.
- Your ability to analyze and solve problems with a structured approach is indispensable.
- Clear communication and effective teamwork are essential qualities you possess, enabling you to thrive in collaborative environments.
- Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in German is highly beneficial for optimal communication in this role.
Additional Information
- This internship is based in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, and work will be conducted entirely on-site.
- The program is scheduled to start as soon as possible and will run for six months, with the possibility of extension to one year.
- This is a full-time opportunity; part-time arrangements are not possible.
