This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Our Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability (#IP2TIS) offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world.

Are you ready to join a global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges in Innovation & Sustainability? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future, and drive change from within?

As an intern, you will contribute to a project focused on using AI-driven analytics to accelerate site-level Ecobalance and decarbonization decisions. The project aims to transform raw energy consumption and CO2 emissions data into proactive insights that help site managers and sustainability teams take faster, more informed action. Within your first 3 months, you are expected to help develop a predictive trend analysis model, support anomaly detection logic, create a library of AI-generated prompts, and contribute to a digital prototype that simulates the impact of different sustainability measures. Your work will help reduce the time between data collection and environmental action, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and support Roche’s broader net-zero ambitions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to build AI tools that turn sustainability data into practical environmental action.

The Opportunity

  • Collect, clean, and aggregate raw energy consumption and CO2 emissions data from different Roche sites
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify historical patterns, seasonal trends, and baseline metrics
  • Build and train an AI or machine learning model for predictive trend analysis and proactive forecasting
  • Validate the model against historical data to assess accuracy and reliability
  • Define anomaly detection logic for energy and carbon data and help identify relevant thresholds and triggers
  • Develop a library of AI-generated prompts tailored to site-specific sustainability data
  • Collaborate with sustainability experts to link data triggers to appropriate carbon-reduction interventions
  • Support the development of a digital prototype or dashboard that helps local teams prioritize sustainability actions with the highest environmental impact

Who You Are

You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of Sustainability, Computer Science, or Data Science within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months.

Furthermore you are

  • Knowledgeable in sustainability topics, data science, AI, and data engineering
  • Comfortable working with data aggregation, exploratory data analysis, predictive modeling, and validation
  • Able to translate technical findings into clear and practical insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong in stakeholder management and cross-functional communication
  • Fluent in English

If you meet most but not all qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.

Additional information

The internship is expected to start between 1 and 16 July 2026 and will last at least 3 months.
