Within Roche Pharma Research & Early Development (pRED) Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Investigative and Immuno Safety department is a well-established and respected group of 80 people. The group is responsible for the conduct of in vitro work to determine the preclinical safety of new Roche medicines.

For our Investigative and Immuno Safety Department in Basel we are currently looking for a highly motivated graduate or student. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of scientists and work together on several projects focusing on lung biology for immuno-oncology drug safety evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under supervised training and mentoring, you will gradually assume responsibility for agreed tasks such as processing of fresh human lung tissue and consequent cell and organoid culture
  • You will support the establishment of novel, autologous in vitro models from these isolated cells
  • You will apply flow cytometry, cytokine measurement, imaging as well as the data analysis and interpretation
  • You will be working closely together with a team on a daily basis in and outside of the lab

Who you are

  • You are currently pursuing your MSc degree in biology, biomedicine, toxicology, immunology or similar fields of life sciences, or you have finished your MSc studies within the last 12 months
  • You have significant experience working with cell culturing techniques
  • Experience with human primary cells in a BSL2 environment, flow cytometry, and/or confocal imaging will be an advantage
  • You are proactive, well organized and a motivated team player, who enjoys collaborating on a daily basis
  • Are fluent in English
