Trainee Data Science Trading (f/m)

This is a unique opportunity to become a member of the Advanced Analytics Team in Trading & Sales, applying state of the art machine learning. You can learn the end-to-end process from use case ideation all the way to operation and continuous improvement of use cases being used daily in trading. We have a lot of data available and you can help to transform it into trading recommendations for profit generation. In this 18-months traineeship you have the possibility to rotate into different departments and to build-up your knowledge in an ideal career start.

What you will do

• Developing machine-learning based models end-to-end to support different trading activities in the Business Area Trading & Sales
• Delivering real use cases that run daily as part of our core trading activities
• Implementing and improve use cases together with traders active in various energy markets
• Performing deep dives on dedicated requests applying different data science approaches
• Applying best-practice data science and time series analysis in an agile and efficient manner on our cloud-based analytics platform
• Engaging actively with two front desks as their desk data scientist to improve your understanding of trading needs and connect it with your modelling skills

What you bring & who you are

• Master degree in Data Science, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Physics or Mathematics
• Knowledge in Machine Learning / Big Data / Data Analytics
• Advanced in Python skills, its data science libraries included
• Keen on experiencing the spirit in a trading company
• Analytical and pragmatic thinking to master exciting and demanding challenges
• Entrepreneurial mindset that likes to take on responsibility as a full team member early on
• Fluent in English, fluent in German is a plus
• Willingness to work abroad for several months

The traineeship starts on 1st of October 2021 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position.
