Your role

Are you passionate about art and interested to learn more about the day-to-day at a corporate collection? Do you take a hands-on approach and are you eager to help us with the various aspects of collection management? Are you flexible and happy to work in a fast-paced environment?

We’re looking for someone like that to:

  • help us with the extensive inventory management of works in our internal art storage facility
  • work with the art database “Art Plus”: create new artwork records, update location changes, take and upload images and condition reports, pull reports for artwork proposals, and much more
  • support the yearly art sale to staff in Zürich
  • organize installations of art works in branches in Switzerland
  • connect with our internal and external stakeholders
  • support the global Art Collection team with day-to-day tasks and requests
  • research artwork provenance, auction prices, and history of works
  • help with communications, copyright requests, social media, press inquiries

From the start of the program, you’ll be right at the heart of the business, taking part in the day-to-day operations. Your team

You’ll be working in the Art Collection team in Zürich, both in Altstetten where our internal storage facility is as well as at Europaallee. We are an international team of art professionals, with our Global Head of the Collection based in New York. We are responsible for the inventory, care, maintenance and development of the Collection, the display of the works in UBS client-facing and selected staff areas. We activate the Collection internally and externally, including exhibitions and loans to major art museums and cultural institutions, and we educate with events including tours, talks, presentations for clients, the public and employees.

Your expertise

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree or have obtained your master’s degree within the last 6 months.

In particular, you have:

  • a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in art history, art administration, or similar
  • ability to recognize the different art techniques, specially prints
  • an autonomous, diligent and detail-oriented work style
  • no problem working in our storage facilities and getting your hands “dirty”
  • a very good command of Microsoft Office (in particular PowerPoint) and are a fast learner when it comes to new IT products (ideally also experience with art database pro rams and Photoshop)
  • excellent German and English skills (written and oral)
  • good communication skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels
  • flexible, open-minded and able to stay on track, even when dealing with tight deadlines
