The Analytical Research & Development (ARD) department is part of Global Technical Development and responsible for the analysis of drug substances and dosage forms of synthetic molecule development products, at the Roche Basel site. This includes the development, optimization and validation of advanced analytical methods applying state-of-the-art equipment and technologies.

As part of the ARD department, the analytical development sections are responsible for the development of resource and cost efficient analytical methods by use of state of the art and innovative techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography, gas or mass spectrometry. The ultimate goal of our work is the development of a robust control strategy to release products for clinical trials, and finally for commercial supply.

As an Intern you will support one of the Analytical Research and Development groups in different working areas, such as:

  • Support the digital transformation initiative by assessing a software to accelerate HPLC method development or

  • Support the digital transformation initiative by implementing a process using a color determination equipment on a routine basis for liquids, solids and tablets or
  • Integration and adaptation of externally developed dissolution media and working conditions into the Roche workflow

Who you are:

You are preferably a master student in the subject of Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology and have an interest in technical or analytical issues. Furthermore, you are interested in using and sharing your knowledge as part of your Internship in a modern working environment. Your further profile for this position:

  • Reliable and accurate working style in a GMP-compliant environment
  • Team-oriented and decision-making personality
  • Self-sufficient, problem solving-oriented work habits
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in English, German is a plus

  • A certificate of enrollment (if you are currently studying). If you want to use this opportunity to do a Master’s or Diploma thesis, please highlight this in your Motivation Letter
  • For Non-EU/EFTA citizens: Due to regulations, you must provide a certificate issued by your university stating that an Internship is mandatory for your studies. Failure to do so will result in your application not being considered further.

Application deadline is 17.08.2021.

In case the first review of your application was successful, we are going to invite you to an Online Assessment around the end of August.

All successful final candidates will be invited to a virtual interview day which will take place 20.10.2021.

The Internship will start in 2022 for 6-12 month, please indicate your preferred start date and duration in your application.
