Your role

Are you detail-oriented with strong research capability? Are you a diligent coder who is interested in ambitious automation projects around risk intelligence? We are looking for an intern to be part of Business Risk Management Switzerland to help us with:

  • translation of R code into Python, including migration from local to cloud solutions;
  • properly versioning and thoroughly documenting all the code;
  • improving/automating existing processes by crunching data (e.g., using Python and Excel).

Your team

You’ll be working in the Risk Analytics team which is part of Business Risk Management based in Zurich. We support our subject matter experts in identifying and mitigating operational risks, and we continuously work on methods to increase the insightfulness, accuracy and efficiency of all our analyses.

Your expertise

You need to have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree or have obtained your master’s degree within the last 6 months.

In particular, you have:

  • good knowledge of both Python and R;
  • any experience with cloud computing solutions is a major plus;
  • experience in querying relational databases (SQL) as well as an excellent command of Microsoft Excel (including formulas and pivot tables) is a plus;
  • any experience in reporting, dashboarding or web application development is an asset;
  • good communication skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels;
  • can-do spirit, self-starter, propensity to move from prototyping to concrete implementation avoiding “analysis paralysis”;
  • excellent command of English (spoken and written), German is a major plus, any other major language is an asset.
